Real Estate Law, a specific branch of Private Law, has experienced great expansion in Brazil and its scope goes far beyond the regulation of rights arising from real estate ownership. It integrates subjects from other fields of law, such as contracts, notary public registration, civil liability, family, and consumer protection, to enable a systematic approach to any legal discussion involving real estate.
In this respect, one can mention the questions relative to possession, acquisition or loss of properties, leasing contracts, relationships in vertical and horizontal condominiums, real estate purchase and sale, donations, exchanges or assignments of property rights, financing facilities and real estate development, and many other private relations pertaining to the real estate business.
